This data pertains to web browser mentions in tweets. It doesn't make any assumptions as to whether the mentions are negative or positive. It is interesting to watch mentions increase based on news releases or in some cases security alerts.
The web browser data has been gathered via the Twitter Search API since 2-12-2010 and is updated every 5 minutes. Various changes have been made to increase the value of the data.
The data has approximately a 20% error rate due to searches being based on natural language. "Chrome", "Opera" and "Safari" are words that may show up in tweets that aren't about web browsers. It was considered to add "browser" to those searches but we opted to be greedier with the data and accept the error rate for now. Data should be considered a sample rather than a population.
